| BIOL 1110 - General Biology I |

Prerequisite: MATH 1710 with C- or better or MATH ACT of 19 or higher. Corequisite: BIOL 1111. Primarily for Biology majors and minors and other science-oriented students. Biological principles and processes, including introduction to the nature of science, cells (structure, function, metabolism, division), genetics, evolution. Three hours lecture and one three-hour laboratory. While BIOL 1110 can be used to fulfill half the 8-hour True Blue Core requirement for Scientific Literacy, it is the first semester of a two-semester sequence primarily designed for science majors.
